What do folks think - stick with Toontrack? Some seemingly popular options that are secondary options for me because I can't resell them:

  • ProjectSam True Strike (will this work for my use case).
  • BTW, I do have Synchronized SE's 1, 1+, 2, and 2+, which have some percussion included, but it's missing some stuff that I'm looking for).
  • Synchron Percussion or other VSL percussion libraries (I like VSL, but these seem very expensive).
  • Toontrack Orchestral Percussion SDX (top choice so far).
  • So, I think some of the main contenders are: I'm also mostly considering developers that have a license transfer policy - I'll pick up something small without one, but for bigger purchases, I've learned (the hard way) that, for me, it pays to mostly consider libraries I can sell (or return, thanks VSL) if I so decide. So, the ability to blend into those types of mixes is key. I'm mostly writing symphonic prog (first shareable piece nearly done), and I'd like to mix in some additional percussion instruments to my current SD3 kit a la Neil Peart or Mattias Olsson.

I have Superior Drummer 3, so the Orchestral Percussion SDX is a clear contender. I'm considering picking up an orchestral percussion library.
